Zesday Restaurant Listing, Menu & Food-Safety Standards

Version: 1.0 Last updated: 14 August 2026

These standards supplement the Restaurant Partner Agreement and apply to every restaurant, cloud kitchen, merchant location, menu item and food listing on Zesday.

1. Eligibility and licences

A restaurant must provide its correct legal and trading names, operating address, contact details, bank and tax information, and a valid FSSAI licence or registration appropriate to its activity. Each active outlet must remain lawfully licensed. Zesday may verify records, pause onboarding, suppress an outlet or stop orders when documents expire, conflict or cannot be validated.

The restaurant remains the food business operator responsible for procurement, preparation, hygiene, labelling, allergens, packaging, shelf life and compliance at its premises. A platform verification or badge is not a transfer of that responsibility.

2. Accurate catalogue information

Names, descriptions, variants, portion information, ingredients, dietary tags, allergen statements, prices, taxes, packaging charges, stock and preparation times must be current and not misleading. "Vegetarian", "vegan", "halal", "jain", nutrition, health and sustainability claims must be supportable.

No item may be substituted with a materially different product without the customer's informed approval where the Platform permits it. Out-of-stock items must be disabled promptly. Online mandatory food information and claims must match the label or information supplied with the delivered product.

3. Food safety and fulfilment

Restaurants must follow applicable FSSAI hygiene and food-safety requirements, protect food from contamination, use food-grade tamper-evident packaging where appropriate, maintain safe temperatures, and segregate food from non-food or hazardous goods. The restaurant must cooperate with incident investigations, recalls and regulator requests.

For pre-packed food, do not dispatch an item that fails the minimum remaining shelf-life requirement applicable to e-commerce food delivery. Batch, expiry/best-before and other mandatory declarations must be available as required by law.

4. Photos and media

Restaurant images must be owned or licensed, reasonably represent the current item or outlet, and must not falsely depict portion size, ingredients, packaging, certifications or awards. Stock, AI-generated or materially enhanced images must not be presented as an unedited photograph of the actual dish. Zesday may request source files or proof of rights and may label, crop or remove media to protect customers.

Customer photos remain customer contributions and cannot be removed merely because they are unflattering. They may be reported under the Community Content & Review Policy when they are irrelevant, unsafe, unlawful or inauthentic.

5. Displayed business information

Zesday may show the outlet's FSSAI licence/registration number, hygiene rating where available, address area, dietary information, taxes, fees and other legally required disclosures. The restaurant authorises these disclosures and must correct inaccuracies promptly through the partner app or Support.

6. Restricted and prohibited listings

Do not list unlawful food, recalled products, unsafe items, misleading replicas, tobacco or nicotine products, intoxicants without applicable authorisation, or any product prohibited by Zesday or law. Zesday may apply additional age, location, timing or category restrictions.

7. Monitoring and enforcement

Zesday may conduct document checks, catalogue audits, test orders, complaint analysis and proportionate automated screening. Action may include correction requests, warning labels, item suppression, refund recovery, campaign ineligibility, temporary suspension, delisting or termination. Urgent food-safety action may occur before a full hearing; the restaurant may appeal through support@zesty.in.
